The story of Vindvadet

My name is Ditte, and Vindvadet is both my home, my work and a dream that is allowed to develop every day.

Together with my husband Michael, I live in the farmhouse at Vindvadet – a cozy country house surrounded by nature, animals and high to the sky. We moved here in January 2025 and have since created a home and a vacation spot where there is room to relax and enjoy the rural tranquility.

You will probably find me with a coffee cup, a vacuum cleaner or a paintbrush in my hand – often wearing wellington boots and with several new ideas running at once. I am the one who answers bookings, prepares the apartments and takes care of the small details that hopefully make our guests feel comfortable. Fortunately, Michael is never far away when something needs to be built, repaired or implemented.

I am a trained social worker and have worked with vulnerable children and young people since 2012. My work has taught me how important safe, calm and homely environments are for our well-being. I bring that experience with me to Vindvadet and to my encounters with every guest.

For me, Vindvadet is much more than a place to stay overnight. It should be a place where both children and adults feel welcome – and where there is time for presence, outdoor life and pleasant moments together. Here the pace can be a little slower, and of course the family's four-legged friend is also welcome.

Vindvadet was created with the heart, and we look forward to sharing the place with you.
